PB can help!!

What can you expect?

Your first appointment will last for 1hr. We will discuss your medical history, previous exercise experience and your goals. We will then assess your posture and record it with a digital camera so you can track your progress. You will then be asked to perform simple movements so we can evaluate the weak links in your movement patterns. Finally, we will test the length and strength of the major muscle groups. Riders tend to develop a common pattern of tightness and weakness, which limits performance. An exercise programme will then be drawn up based on the assessment findings and mutually agreed goals.

You can book a course of personal training following the rider analysis or you can simply opt for the personal training alone. The rider analysis and follow up focus on fine pelvic control and symmetry, whereas personal training entails posture evaluation, musculoskeletal assessment and movement screen and dismounted exercises focusing on flexibility, strength, endurance and control.

"I originally went to PersonalBest for the rider analysis, which was fantastic and extremely useful. But in the course of our session I mentioned that I was looking to improve not only my riding, but my general fitness and strength for other activities such as skiing and walking. I carry a knee injury and was looking for exercise and training that would minimise its impact.

Louise suggested a course of one to one training and I have been attending her studio for about two months. I can honestly say it is the best course of physical training I have experienced. I have worked with personal trainers in the past, but Louise's unique combination of technical expertise as a physio together with her interest and understanding of sport works to provide a totally integrated training programme, which has significantly improved my performance and stamina. We work together in her studio on floor exercises and with her specialist equipment, with no two sessions ever being the same. The variety makes the sessions interesting and challenging, but also enjoyable. I have learned a series of exercises that I can do myself at home and can see real progression over a relatively short period of time. I can't recommend Louise enough - and I very much look forward to our future sessions together."             - Lynne Charlesworth
